From inception to present day, Silk Cakes has been led by Chef Judy Lai. With her strong culinary background both in product development and as a cake instructor at her culinary school, Chef Judy has focused on Asian ingredients such as thai tea, matcha, ube and infused them into American desserts such as cupcakes and chiffon cakes, creating inventive flavor combinations that are unparalleled in the industry.
As the company began to grow, her sister, Amy Lai joined the management team. With her MBA in Marketing/Brand Management and her work experience with many multi-national retail brands, Amy has helped defined the brand’s identity and grow the company’s brand awareness.
